thickening bonsai trunk

Bonsai Trees?
I started a bonsai from seeds from eucalyptus. It is now big and healthy, but the trunk " not support the tree. Should I prune the leaves? Will that encourage the "trunk" to strengthen? Or should I play and it will thicken up to term?
